{Review} Maybelline's Great Lash Colored Mascara

After hearing that Maybelline was releasing their very popular Great Lash mascara in 4 limited edition shades, I had to try them out.  I LOVE colored mascara but I don't like spending too much for it. I find that I don't use it enough to get my monies worth out of the pricer brands. These are great because I grabbed all four for less then $20!

Read on for color swatches and my opinion on each shade.

Check out the wands for all four shades. Clockwise: Totally Teal, Pop of Purple, Go Go Green, & Blink of Blue

Totally Teal using flash

Totally Teal  is my fav of the four shades. I feel like the teal is unexpected. Its bright enough to be seen without the flash and it gives a nice pop.

Go Go Green using flash
Go Go Green is my runner up. I really like this color. I've never used a green mascara and it does not disappoint. The green is vibrant and gives great color without the flash. Both Totally Teal and Go Go Green are the only shades that are visible without flash.

Pop of Purple using flash

I really wanted Pop of Purple to be great. I had high hopes for this shade. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. It's really pretty with flash but you can't see it at all with the naked eye. It's not vibrant at all and I would recommend you pass if your looking for bright purple payoff.

Blink of Blue is a pretty average blue mascara. It was not as vibrant as I had hoped and it is very difficult to see with the naked eye. Looks pretty with flash but it didn't really rock my boat. Not the best blue I've tried but for about five bucks, its worth adding it to your kit.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the collection. I would recommend trying Totally Teal and Go Go Green.

Check out the collection at your local CVS, Walgreen or Walmart and let me know what you think.

Best,

  1. Adore these swatches and your honesty! I saw these, picked them up, then put them back because I wasn't sure. I know which ones to buy now :)

    1. Thanks for reading Janis. I'm definitely partial to the green and teal. I like that they pop in natural light. Let me know what you think when you grab them ;)
